Conifer is an outdoor landscaping company that focuses on snow removal in the winter and landscaping in the summer.
ROLE
Designer & Production Artist
OBJECTIVE
To design a visual striking and versatile logo for a landscaping company that embodies the beauty and harmony of nature.
CHALLENGE
We first had to come up with the name for the outdoor landscaping company. Some of those names were; Allium, Birch, Yarrow, Wildgrass and Conifer. Once we landed on Conifer, we needed to choose a color palette, font, tagline and design that effectively represents natural elements, like plants and trees.
Creating a unique design that stands out from competitors while still clearly conveying the company's focus on snow removal and landscaping.
The logo needs to be timeless avoiding trendy elements that become outdated quickly.
PROCESS
I started with a competitor analysis and then moved on to sketching in Illustrator. I prefer to create these logos in black and white to keep the focus on the typography and the mark. Once the client chooses a logo, we explore different color palettes.
OUTCOME
We chose 4 trees to represent all four seasons with the tagline, Outdoor Services. The client was able to generate business through the branding with a clear understanding of what they did.
